I once went to college with this guy, Ian. He was a senior when I was a freshman, and we became friends. Then he graduated. Ian is from Singapore. In Singapore, every citizen has to commit two years of service when they turn 18, or they lose their citizenship. Ian deferred his service for two years in order to finish his degree. This means that after graduation, he went home and will have to be there, as a military man, for two years. It's almost like serving prison time, minus the jail outfit. We have had very little contact since he has started serving, and everyone here in the states misses him. He is doing well, however and wants everyone to know he's keeping his head up and keeping busy. He also says he misses everyone and wants to come back ASAP. Stay up Ian.
