Getting Up
So, I figured I'd stop leaving you guys hanging so hard. It's nice to hear from you, how have you been? good? me too!
Moving on, I've been saying this for a while, but my mixtape is coming to a close. Hugh's album is out now, and you can pick it up from me if you're in the Santa Clara area. Nick's here to visit for a couple days and that has been a lot of fun. Tonight will probably yield us some funny stories so we'll see how that goes. Finals sucked this quarter, and so did most of my other school work, but it's nice to have a break. I'm taking this time to relax (PSYCH!). I've actually been in the gym a lot, and have been working on these songs while I don't have tons of homework. I may start releasing a couple songs here and there if you're good.
As spring approaches, I am looking forward to being out in the sun a little bit more. Holler at cha boy!

Some Party At Some Car Museum
As a young kid, it's easy to be obsessed with cars, and the Petersen Museum has always had a huge car on the outside of the building. I used to ask my mom to take me there all the time. I had been there a handful of times as a young kid before B.I.G. died. I haven't been in there since, I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or not, I just haven't been back. Every time I roll by Wilshire it usually pops into my head that one of the most talented people we've had got killed over some absolute bullsh*t right there in the street. Rest in peace Mr. Wallace, I'll see you when I get there.

Stereotypes

Got me thinking.
As black men we have two sets of stereotypes. The first is that we are incredibly irresponsible with any kids we have, and that we are always involved in violence, drugs or jail. The second is that we are more athletic than everyone and have larger manhood.
If he can get rid of that first set of stereotypes, the world is ours.
Just a thought.

Sunday Thoughts
1. I love hearing music I had forgotten about. Today, I'm listening to the Beastie Boys. They're so tight. I had forgotten.
2. Emails. I would really like to answer some. We haven't gotten any good ones. In case you forgot, our email is get.your.own.blog@gmail.com
3. Ice cream is delicious. Nuff' said.
4. I realize I'm pretty forgetful. If I'm supposed to do something, make sure you remind me of it. Thanks.
5. New music - Love vs. Money by The Dream. Get into it.
6. I really like lifting, and staying in shape, but I feel like some of my lifestyle choices get in the way. It's something I'm working on.

Oh No
Chris Brown charged with two felonies
You mean to tell me, he punched her, bit her, choked her, and then threatened to kill her?
And he's gonna skate with probation?
This is ridiculous
Somebody hit me with a link to some dance/voice classes, I'm light-skinned enough right?

One More Dance
Nas - Dance
So my friends often tell me not to hold stuff in, so I'm trying not to. It hasn't been 2 months yet, and I'm worse than ever. I feel like I'm reaching for something I just can't quite grab. This is by far the worse I've ever felt in my entire life.
I appreciate all of the love and support. I'll be ok.
In the mean time, hit me up. I'm not hard to find

And I Say the Same Thing Every Single Time
So this post is gonna be me reflecting on my life, or should I say, wife. For that matter, I should say "lack thereof". I'm posting up, which is fine, but I have the sneakiest suspicions that I am missing out on something. There seems to be no yin to my yang, no "better half" as it were... as far as I know. It's possible that the person I'm seeking is right in front of my face and I just don't see it, but I'm gonna have to wait to find that out. I am under the impression that the people that I like are just not that into me, and as far as those who have become fond of me, I end up not caring for them very much. It might be because of the fact that by my knowing I could "pull" a certain young lady, I am slightly less attracted to her, which works the other way around as well. That is to say, if a young lady is not feeling me, it makes me want her more. No one goes on dates anymore, it's classified as "trickin" if I want to take someone to lunch or dinner, and no one EVER takes me seriously. I'm a funny guy, but I have a serious side too. Most times, if I'm being "rude" or "mean" I'm not being serious, and I would hope that when I actually am being serious, people would be able to recognize that and respect it.
As a part of my growth and development as a person, I think it is imperative that I make some sort of connection with a "mate", and therefore, I think you should be less weirded out than you guys(n/h) have been when I actually show interest in you. If I'm taking the time out, which I don't have to do, I get discouraged really easily, especially if I've made myself vulnerable to you. That kind of stuff hurts, and I don't appreciate it.
All that having been said, if you actually made it to the end of this rant, and think you might fancy yourself a shot, make yourself seen.
Honestly, I just want to be able to say "you the fuckin best" and mean it.

Not Pimpin!

So, yesterday I was watching for the love of Ray J, like I always do on Mondays, and this show was just ridiculous. First, they had a boxing match, wherein they pitted girls against each other in one on one matches. However, 3 of the girls forfeited which meant only Feisty and Lil Hood actually squared off in the ring. After that, the winning team + Feisty(who Ray let come because he felt the rest of her team left her hanging) all went out to a club. Lil Hood proceeded to tell Ray that they should go in the bathroom for some "one on one time" with "no cameras" and subsequently tried to grind on and hump him a lot until he had had enough. He had already expressed to us that he doesn't like it when a girl tries to force herself on him, and this was a textbook example of that.
The next day, Lil Hood decided it would be a good idea to ether herself(all Nas) by telling Ray some crazy story about how girls in the house are talking shit about her, a thought put into her head by Cocktail(Judas), and trying to bring everything(nothing) to the forefront of the discussion. There needed to be no discussion. Lil Hood was confused at that point and sought comfort from Judas, who in turn pretended to listen and helped her to pack her bags. She eliminated herself...
So now I wish to salute you, Lil Hood, for being the dumbest person on TV. Congratulations.
p.s. Who is this Jason character I keep hearing about?

10,000
10,000 assists for the best point guard of our generation.
Growing up in a generation that loves high flying, exciting plays, we all grew up loving Kidd's lobs to K-Mart and Richard Jefferson, and we recognize him his one of the best passers to have played the game.
The thing about Kidd is that he also the best rebounding guard, and possibly one of the best defensive point guards to play in the modern era.
In an era where the best players on the team must take 30 shots a game, Kidd showed that the best way to impact a basketball game is with defense, rebounding, and finding the open man. I don't like getting into how basketball is "supposed" to be played, but I'd much rather watch Jason Kidd run an offense and find open men, than watch Kobe pump fake and jab step all night long.
